2003 Verdelho Review

James Evers was our winemaker in the era that this wine was made. Recently he reviewed the wine and his comments follow.
This wine is proof that Verdelho is not just a short term pleasing wine. At almost 10 years of age it displays a deep yet bright yellow hue that is still vibrant.
The aroma is a complex amalgam of buttered toast and honey suckle with hints of citrus and passion fruit from its youthful past.
The palate verifies the aroma with beautiful secondary characters of honey suckle and toast that coat the mouth with amazing depth and texture. The powerful full bodied mouth feel develops into an elegant clean citrus finish.
This wine is drinking beautifully now and will so for another year or two. It could be enjoyed with any richer seafood dish or poultry.

Personally I just love it. If you enjoy aged whites its worth a try.
